Best Mac wallpapers for 5K and Studio Display setups
A big Apple display shows everything, including a wallpaper's weaknesses. Four things matter more than the subject.

A Mac wallpaper for a 5K or XDR display should be at least 5120 × 2880 px (ideally 6016 × 3384 px), have a calm strip at the top for the menu bar, keep the left third quiet where desktop icons live, and hold up in both light and dark mode.
1. Resolution headroom

2. The menu bar strip

3. Room for desktop icons

4. Light and dark mode
macOS tints window chrome to match your wallpaper's brightness. Very bright images make dark mode look grey; very dark images can make light-mode windows feel like holes. Mid-dark, textured artwork behaves best in both.
